Summer School Tour: National Aquatic Centre

  On Wednesday the 15 th of June, the children in 4 th Class enjoyed a fun day out in the Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown. Both classes really enjoyed all of the indoor water slides and various water games and courses. Overall, it was a huge success and both classes really enjoyed the experience. It was an experience they will remember fondly for a long time.                                         

PE: Enjoying the new football goals

  Recently, a new set of football goals were installed in the school yard. The children in 4th class (and other classes) are enjoying this new resource.  This week in 4th class, we played a mini-tournament, in which the pupils had an opportunity to use the new goals for the first time. -Mr McGuire

Engineers Week-Part 1: Meccano and Maker System.

  This week as part of Engineers Week in 4 th class, the children used the Meccano set to construct a series of engineering objects including: cars, helicopters, robots and boats. The class really enjoyed this 'hands on' creative experience.

Pancake Tuesday: 1 March 2022

  Today in class the children learned about the origins and traditions associated with Pancake Tuesday, also known as Strove Tuesday. They also learned about the key ingredients in making pancakes.  Most importantly, they were allowed to eat some pancakes with a range of different toppings.  – Mr McGuire

  The children in 4 th class used clay to create a variety of models. These were then coloured to give them life . It was an enjoyable and creative experience for all the children. Some wonderful pieces of art were produced.

Art: Clay Sculptures.

  Recently in 4 th class, as part of Art, the children experimented with clay and created a range of different sculptures. Once designed, sculpted and set, they were coloured with acrylic paints. The class really enjoyed this 'hands on' session of art. Some of the fantastic clay models More beautiful pieces of art. A medieval castle An amazing mushroom village A clay head. An ornate clay pot.

'Drama & Theatre Making' 4th Class

  Over the last number of weeks the children in 4th class have been learning the key skills in drama and theatre, from an external drama teacher called Mary. The children are really enjoying this experience and are learning to express themselves in a creative and imaginative way. -Mr McGuire
